ERP livestock

ERP support is vital for companies operating within the nutritional industries. The importance of planning, checking and following up animal cycles and flocks shouldn’t be understated. If this flow is not handled correctly within the ERP, it can result in production and demand difficulties, causing supply issues at the farm. Moreover, it could mean that you simply won’t be able to deliver the necessary type of feed needed in the animal’s lifecycle stage (starter, grower, finisher,…)

It’s also common practice in the poultry and livestock business, for cash settlements of feed deliveries to depend on the finishing date of the animal’s lifecycle (when animals are processed in the slaughter-house). Not managing those agreements could have a negative effect on customer satisfaction, your reputation, as well as your cash flow.

Animal cycle, flock and livestock management in MILAS®

MILAS® proactively runs checks on the animal cycles (rounds) for poultry and livestock. Each cycle is linked to a farm and contains important data (starting date, stable number, type and species of the animals, number of animals, start weight of the animals, planned end-date of the animals and agreed payment condition for the round). These cycles can be allocated to several transactions (delivery of the animals, feed delivery, medication delivery,…).

With MILAS, you can easily link a feeding scheme to a cycle, allowing you to propose the right feed, in the right quantity during order entry. This functionality automatically proposes the right due date of the sales order, referencing to settings in the animal cycle, which contributes to a proactive sales and feed production plan.

Conclusion

Since poultry and livestock planning is enormously important within the nutritional supply chain, every sales order related to a certain cycle can be controlled on “feed demand” (in other words: “Was the right type of feed and the right quantity ordered for that specific cycle?”).

For financial follow up, MILAS provides a structured, safe and user-friendly tool, set-up to help your sales organization calculate the right due date, and to automatically invoice customers that have poultry, pig, cattle,…
