Kim’s Chocolates is an SME specialising in luxury chocolate products, ranging from pralines and bars to blocks of chocolate. The company has grown strongly over recent years. The innovations needed for the development of new products and for making the product specifications have been supported by the BESTMIX® Food application for a number of years now.

Fons Maex, deputy director of Kim's Chocolates, likes investing in new technology so that they can stay in the lead in this competitive market. KIM's Chocolates has now selected the BESTMIX® LIMS software application, Adifo's laboratory information management system, for quality monitoring of the raw materials and the end products.

Both the final packaging (the box with the ribbon) and the contents of the box (the positioning and the types of pralines in each layer) are compared against pictures and guidelines. The aim is to provide better insights into analysis results and improved efficiency by structured management of the quality data. This should improve customer satisfaction yet further.
Kim's Chocolates, located in Tienen since July 2008, is part of the German confectionery group Windel. KIM's Chocolates recently received an award for the “Meest energiebewuste KMO 2008” (Most energy-aware SME of 2008), thanks to the efforts made towards an efficient and sustainable energy policy.
