ADIFO Customer Success Story
Customer: AGERLAND BV and AGRARISCHE UNIE BV – Holland
Sector: Agriculture

Adifo supports improved procurement management at agricultural co-op

“While our controls were always top notch, the improved integration with the financial system SAP and with the grain intake devices (weighbridges and analysis equipment) provided by the “Adifo Grain Add On Software” takes the administrative effort out of being accountable and transparent.” – Vincent Roelofs, CEO Agerland.

Adifo Solution

The Adifo Grain Add On Software has been integrated with the  ERP software of SAP, with weighbridges at 20 sites in Holland, with Dickey John grain analyzing equipment, Infratec grain analyzing equipment, barcode readers and partner cooperation ERP software.
Adifo’s software manages all contracts with the grain supplier farmers, the generation of the  delivery document, where the barcode already contains the supplier code, the product code and an automatically generated sample number. This document is given to the contracted suppliers. Upon harvesting, the supplier brings the grain deliveries to a site and gives this document to the operator, who scans it. This action generates the intake. The intake data are automatically filled in. Then the first and second weighing results are imported from the weighbridges, and the analysis is imported from an analysis device. Manual interaction is minimised.
Later, all weight and cost corrections towards the farmers and the purchase invoices are also managed in the Adifo software. If a purchase invoice is printed, the records are automatically transferred to the financial system in SAP.
All grain-related sales, stock control and valuation processes, as well as the grain-related management information are managed in the Adifo Grain Add-On software.

Summary

AGERLAND and AGRARISCHE UNIE, divisions of one of Holland’s leading agricultural co-operation CEHAVE, are dealing with agricultural raw material management and trade in the Netherlands. They co-operate with farmers, agri-processors and users of agricultural products.  In 2009, as part of a modernasation process, – the decision was made to implement Adifo Grain Add-On Software.

“There was more to this project than a simple software implementation, since our business (grain handling and trading) is quite special. So far, we had not found a handy solution within our corporate level ERP-software of SAP.  Instead of starting customized development in SAP, we decided  to buy an industry- specific solution for grain management from Adifo.  As we cannot influence the harvest time, this project was extra challenged: It had to be realized within only 3 months.
In these 3 months,  we realized to train the users, build integration between SAP and Adifo Grain Add-On and to integrate the Adifo software with all equipment (analysis and weighing devices) we currently use at our sites” says Arjen Bastiaans, Manager at Agrarische Unie.

Adam Sneep, CEO at Adifo  says: “We developed a plug-in system for the agricultural sector, based upon our well-known industry- specific ERP system MILAS.  This package has been developed for companies using another ERP but with a need for support in industry-specific matters. Such projects can be hard to realize within the used ERP and often require heavy customizing.  Adifo’s add-on software offers a solution to companies like AGERLAND/AGRARISHE UNIE.  Our add-on focuses both on open integration with all other software and on sector knowledge.”
